The Las Vegas Raiders lost running back Josh Jacobs in free agency to the Green Bay Packers, and were sitting with Zamir White as their starting running back, who is their best running back as the roster currently stands.

White isn't bad, as when he did fill in for Jacobs, he had some very impressive games. However, the sample size really isn't there.

While every big free-agent running back kept getting taken off the board, it started to seem as if the Raiders would miss out on a starting-caliber guy and would have to draft the position. But some news happened on Monday. After hearing about Alexander Mattison's visiting with the Raiders on Monday, the news broke a few hours later.

According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the Las Vegas Raiders are signing Mattison, who is still just 25-years-old. Last season Mattison started 17 games for the Vikings, and finished with just under 800 rushing yards in a passing heavy offense.

He could be a guy the Raiders start or do a running back by committee type of system with White. Either way, this is a great signing for a team who will run the ball a lot.
