Las Vegas Raiders, Darren Waller

This offseason has been filled with drama regarding the Las Vegas Raiders and their star tight end Darren Waller.

It started with the contract extension talks. Then he wasn't coming to practice, but he also wasn't holding out, apparently. Waller also didn't attend the Raiders' second preseason game, and instead was at a Las Vegas Aces WNBA game.

Then, the talks got even more interesting, as Waller fired his agent, and left the Klutch Sports management group, which manages some of the best athletes in the world like LeBron James, and Anthony Davis.

Now, as of Monday, August 28th, the Raiders and Waller are finally engaging in talks.

According to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports, Waller and the Raiders are in talks to make him the highest-paid tight end at $16 million per year.

This is something that needed to get done a long time ago, so I'm not sure why it's getting done now. The Raiders will need Waller, as they will need someone to alleviate that pressure off of Davante Adams.

While it took too long, I, along with Raider Nation, am glad the deal is close to getting done so we can finally see 83 play some football once again in the silver and black.
