The Miami Dolphins (8-7) did not have a December to remember in what has been an otherwise overwhelmingly positive 2022 campaign. In fact, it’s been a month the AFC contenders would like to forget.

With Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers (7-8), the Dolphins finish December with a disappointing 0-4 record. It’s the first time since the 1993 season that Miami went winless in December.

Typically, teams jockeying for playoff position start to find their footing in December. After all, it’s critical that teams play their best football heading into the postseason.

Three of Miami’s losses have been decided by six points or less. It’s not like the Dolphins were getting embarrassed on a weekly basis, but finding a way to win close games is how teams survive and advance in the playoffs.

Miami has an opportunity to right the ship with its final two games coming against AFC East rivals in the New England Patriots and New York Jets. If the Dolphins win out, gaining some momentum along the way, it should restore this team’s confidence at the perfect time.
