After two weeks of camp have passed in South Florida, key battles have began to unfold, and players have begun to stake claim to their respective places on the Miami Dolphins' roster.

Now, fans can get a glimpse at where those players officially stand with the team.

The Dolphins released their first depth chart on Tuesday morning.  While it confirms several roster locks on both sides of the ball, it has some very interesting placements at various positions of interest.

The most interesting position is cornerback, where Jalen Ramsey is still listed as a CB1.  Ramsey, who suffered a meniscus tear, is still listed because he has not been placed on injured reserve, which will not happen until the final cut down to the 53-man roster after the preseason is over.

The team also does not have a slot corner listed, but Kader Kohou is sitting behind Ramsey and has done nothing in camp to change that he's the team's starter at that spot.

The rest of the depth chart at the position makes very little sense.  Nik Needham has not come off the PUP list.  Cam Smith has been the best CB in camp, even though Noah Igbinoghene has recently earned some praise from Mike McDaniel – along with a challenge. Eli Apple should be above Keion Crossen.

Other areas of note are Isaiah Wynn – who has experience at tackle and guard – is listed as a backup guard to Liam Eichenberg.  Wynn vs. Eichenberg against the Atlanta Falcons' talented defensive line that includes David Onyemata and Grady Jarrett will be a battle to watch on the practice fields this week.

David Long, Jr. also got the nod over Andrew Van Ginkel and Duke Riley.  Long was asked recently by defensive coordinator Vic Fangio to be more consistent.  For now, it appears he'll get the first chance to prove he can, and that he is able to fill Elandon Roberts' sizeable shoes.
