On Tuesday the Miami Dolphins released their depth chart leading up to their Week 1 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.  After three preseason games and roster cut downs, the 22 players are revealed who will start on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball for Miami.

Like any team, most of the decisions were predictable and expected, but there were some interesting decisions at key positions that remained undecided throughout the preseason.

First, Liam Eichenberg at left guard is extremely curious, as it appears Isaiah Wynn had outplayed him in the preseason.  However, the team obviously isn't ready to give up on its former second-round draft pick.  One has to think the leash will be short if he struggles early though, with a capable backup in Wynn waiting in the wings.

Mike White earned the backup QB job over Skylar Thompson.  It's more like Thompson played his way out of consideration more than White won it with good play.  Speaking of backups, with Jeff Wilson, Jr. on injured reserve, Salvon Ahmed is listed as RB2 on the depth chart.  Ahmed was fabulous in the preseason, so it's a well-deserved position.

On the defensive side of the ball, Emmanuel Ogbah is listed as an OLB despite being listed on the roster by the team as a DE.  However, when the team kept 7 total linebackers, that seemed like that's how it would line up on the depth chart.  Each LB position has a starter with one backup listed.  Works out nicely.

Kader Kohou is listed as a starting CB.  It's not too surprising to see him as a starter, but he fits the nickel role like a glove, so when there are 3+ corners on the field, it'll be interesting to see where he lines up.  I would still imagine in the slot.

Brandon Jones is listed as the starting safety.  Jones hasn't played a down, including the preseason, since tearing his ACL in Week 7 against the Steelers. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him in tandem with DeShon Elliott this weekend.
