The Vikings are bringing a very notable name in for a visit.

Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, top free agent RB Kareem Hunt is visiting with the team.

Hunt would certainly be a helpful addition to a Vikings team that recently parted with Dalvin Cook.

Hunt is considered one of the best pass-catching backs in the league. In 2022 for the Browns, Hunt collected 35 catches for 210 yards and one receiving touchdown. To go along with that, Hunt rushed for 468 yards and three TDs on the ground.

Hunt's best performance, in both rushing and pass-catching, came back in 2017 as a rookie with the Chiefs. Hunt collected 1,327 rushing yards and caught 53 passes for 455 yards en route to a Pro Bowl selection.

The veteran has never gotten back to that level, spending the majority of the last several seasons as a backup to Nick Chubb. Still, Hunt would provide the Vikings with a skill set that none of the current RBs on the team have.

Ty Chandler and Kene Nwangwu are competing to be the top backup to Alexander Mattison. None of these players are renowned for their receiving ability, so Hunt would be an immediate upgrade there. Chandler did have a nice performance in the team's first preseason game but still averaged under four yards per carry.

Mattison would likely still take the majority of carries, but adding Hunt would give the Vikings an enviable one-two punch. Interest in Hunt could signify the team does not believe any of the young RBs are ready for primary backup duties.
