The Dalvin Cook era has officially come to an end in Minnesota. The team made Cook’s release official on Friday, which allows the star running back to sign with any team of his choosing.

The split appears to be amicable between Cook and the Vikings. After all, Cook endured plenty of success in his six-year tenure in Minnesota, including four Pro Bowl nods.

Cook is the latest franchise cornerstone to part in the 2023 offseason. The Vikings parted ways with LB Erik Kendricks and WR Adam Thielen earlier in the offseason, and have begun to usher in a new era in Minnesota.

Vikings head coacg Kevin O’Connell released a statement via the team’s Twitter account on Cook’s departure.

“I hold Dalvin in the highest regard and am grateful for his contributions on and off the field,” O’Connell said, per the team's Twitter account. “We appreciate Dalvin's positivity, energy and leadership and will be pulling for him in the future.”

It remains to be seen exactly where cook will wind up. The Miami Dolphins have been a team that has expressed interest throughout the offseason, though a trade was never agreed to.

Perhaps the Miami native elects to take his talents to South Beach and start a new chapter in what has already been a phenomenal NFL career.
