One of 22 "bold predictions" that 247Sports made this week for the 2022 college football season is that Tennessee will break two losing streaks this season.
They have the Vols beating Florida on September 24 in Knoxville and then beating one of Alabama/Georgia/LSU (beating LSU seems more likely than beating Alabama or Georgia).
Entering the 2022 season, Tennessee has losing streaks of at least five or more games against the following teams on the schedule — Florida, LSU, Alabama and Georgia. Not only will the Volunteers end one of those skids, but they'll do it twice to end the campaign in memorable fashion with a potential nine-win season. Florida's opening-month schedule is one of college football's toughest and the Gators will feel the brunt of that in Knoxville. From there, the Volunteers will give their best crack at beating LSU, Alabama or Georgia for another momentum-building victory and more importantly, a second streak-ender.

If the Vols beat Florida and beat LSU, there's a legitimate chance that Tennessee could win 11 games in 2022 (with a bowl game win). That would be one of the most incredible turnarounds in college sports after going 3-7 just two years ago.
The only problem I have with 247Sports' prediction is that one of their other "bold predictions" has Kentucky finishing second in the SEC East behind Georgia.
If Tennessee beats Florida and LSU, it's hard for me to see them not finishing second in the SEC East. That would mean they'd likely lose games to Kentucky and South Carolina. And while that's possible, based on what we saw last season, we shouldn't expect the Vols to lose either of those games.
We'll see how the season plays out, but the thought of beating Florida and LSU this season has to get Vols fans excited.
