247Sports sees the Tennessee Vols having a good first month of the 2021 season.

The national sports media outlet recently predicted each SEC team's record through the first month of the season. And they have the Vols finishing September with a 3-1 record.

Here's what 247Sports had to say about Tennessee's record in the first month of the season.

From 247Sports:

If Tennessee can win the 50-50 games this season, the Vols will go bowling during Josh Heupel's first campaign. One of those toss-ups comes in September against Pitt in Knoxville. That is a contest featuring two evenly-matched teams. The SEC opener at Florida two weeks later is likely too much to handle for a squad that will still be finding themselves early on. Bowling Green and Tennessee Tech should be wins to give the Vols some confidence. If Tennessee gets out of September with only one loss, the fans will take it.

I think most fans would be just fine with that kind of start to the season. Beating Florida seems like a long shot, so picking UT to lose that game seems beyond reasonable.

Beating Pittsburgh, however, won't be easy. That's a total toss-up game. If the Vols manage to walk away with a win, it would mean a 2-0 start to the Josh Heupel era.

Winning three games in September with a loss to Florida is a scenario that should thrill Vol fans.

And it's a very doable scenario.

Plus, who knows. Maybe Tennessee will shock the Gators. Crazier things have happened…
