It shouldn't shock anyone that the Tennessee Titans are intrigued by the prospect of adding wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins is a proven commodity in the league when healthy, and their offense needs a top wide receiver to pair with Treylon Burks. Right now, their depth chart looks thin and unproven at the position.

That being said, they will certainly have competition for Hopkins. Teams like the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, among others may attempt to host the star wideout at some point. As of now, only one meeting is knowingly set up for Hopkins, and that is this Sunday in Nashville with the Titans.

If Tennessee wants to get a deal done with him, though, they will have to get creative. Right now, the Titans have just under $8 million in cap space. In order to retain flexibility, they will need to increase their space in the short-term.

They've already cut most of the top candidates to clear space earlier in the off-season, so could an extension or two be in the cards in order to push some money down the road for the Titans?

It may make the most sense for the roster and the front office. There are four Titans who could snag a small (or sizable) extension due to the team's need for  player like Hopkins. The top options are Kevin Byard, Harold Landry III, Derrick Henry, and Ryan Tannehill.

Byard and Landry may make the most sense as they are ascending players that the Titans have in their long-term plans – undoubtedly. As for Tannehill, it is tough to project whether or not he will be their starting quarterback past this season. Henry is still a top-tier running back, but extending an RB past the age of 30 is always a risky move.

Regardless, an extension for a current player could set up the Titans to make their most aggressive push for DeAndre Hopkins.
