Five-star quarterback Arch Manning is one of the most sought-after players in the 2023 recruiting class.

And for good reason.

Manning is a highly skilled quarterback who already has pro-ready size with a big, accurate arm.

Oh, and there's his famous family lineage, too.

Manning is the grandson of former New Orleans Saints quarterback Archie Manning, the nephew of former NFL quarterbacks Eli and Peyton Manning, and the son of Cooper Manning, who was committed to Ole Miss as a wide receiver before a career-ending condition (spinal stenosis) was discovered.

Nearly every program in the country — from USC to LSU — is hoping to land a commitment from Manning.

While there are no favorites right now in the battle for the five-star quarterback, it's reasonable to suggest that Ole Miss (thanks to the family ties) and LSU (proximity to Manning's hometown of New Orleans) have a great shot at landing Manning.

Manning also has a connection to the Tennessee Vols, via his uncle Peyton, who starred on Rocky Top from 1994-1997.

Peyton and Arch have a strong relationship, which seemingly bodse well for the Vols.

In fact, Arch recently spent time in Denver with Peyton, specifically for football reasons.

According to The Athletic, Arch spent the weekend in Denver, training one-on-one with Peyton, while also breaking down film.

While I'm sure Peyton is like the rest of the Mannings and is giving Arch plenty of space, I'd be willing to bet the Vols were mentioned a time or two during their weekend together.

There's obviously a long way to go in this battle. Arch is in no hurry to make a decision. He's going to do his due diligence. And who knows, he could surprise some folks and end up committing to somewhere like Virginia (where his mom went to college, and his sister is set to attend this fall).

Tennessee, at the very worst, is going to be a program that Arch at least considers while making his college decision.
