Chig Okonkwo has been one of the lone bright spots for the Titans this season. Okonkwo is hauling in almost 70% of his targets and he has 374 yards and two touchdowns so far on the season. Okonkwo is leading all tight ends in yards per route run in 2.63, since the stat began being recorded. This season, Chig trails only Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill in yards per route run. Pro Football Focus also ranks Okonkwo third on the rookie tight end receiving grade list, behind Hunter Henry and Jordan Reed. Okonkwo can do anything for the Titans. He has proven that he can make plays no matter where he is lined up on the field. The Titans have used Okonkwo as both a fullback and running back and found success in doing both. The Titans have struggled to find a versatile tight end to replace what they had in Jonnu Smith. Chig Okonkwo is filling those shoes and doing more. The Titans are running tight end screens and using Okonkwo to add a bit of unpredictability to their offense again. Okonkwo is truly special when the ball is in his hands. His abiltiy to get open and break tackles sets him apart from most tight ends. Chig Okonkwo needs to be more consistent in the run-blocking game, which is certainly attainable. All in all, Chig Okonkwo is a star in the making for the Titans.
