Tennessee Vols Hendon Hooker

College football legend Tim Tebow shared some powerful words about Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker on Thursday night during an appearance on ESPN.

Tebow appeared on ESPN, alongside former Baylor/NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III, to reveal the order of finish for the Heisman candidates that weren't named finalists.

Hooker, a player that most agree was snubbed by Heisman voters, finished fifth in the voting.

After the reveal, Tebow spoke about Hooker. Specifically, Tebow spoke about Hooker's character.

"I'll tell you what guys — when you look at Hendon Hooker, it's hard not to root for him," said Tebow. "And I'll tell you what: If I had a son, I would want Hendon Hooker to be his role model. This is someone with such high character, perseverance, faith, and determination. That's why he's ultimately one of my favorite players."

"Because this is someone that has overcome so much," added Tebow. "And now he has proven to the world, to himself, and all the naysayers that he can do it. And that's why he's one of my favorite players. What an incredible young man."

I don't think the compliments can get much higher for Hooker. He's a special player not just because of what he can do on the field, but also because of the character he shows on and off the field.

Hooker's story is incredible. And without him, there's no telling where Tennessee football would be this season. Regardless of what happens in the coming years on Rocky Top, Hooker will always hold a special place in Vols history.
