Last April, Nashville Soccer Club announced that Derrick Henry was joining the franchise's ownership group.
Henry was one of several notable investors announced last year, along with actress Reese Witherspoon and technology investor Jim Toth.
On Thursday, a couple of more famous names were added to Nashville Soccer Club's ownership group.
According to a report from ESPN, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg are part of "a new set of minority investors" (along with Antetokounmpo's brothers).
Here's the statement from principal owner John Ingram on the addition of Antetokounmpo'and Forsberg to the Nashville SC ownership group.
"Soccer is a global sport, and our newest owners once again reinforce our club's commitment to being a global team. Filip and Giannis are not just amazing athletes — they are ambassadors for their respective sports, role models for millions and advocates in their hometowns and worldwide. We share a common belief that our teams not only play to the highest standards, but also lift up their communities and help those who need it most."
Nashville is one of the big "it cities" in the United States right now. It seems like stars from all industries — entertainment, sports, etc — are drawn to the Music City.
