The environment at Neyland Stadium for the Vols' win against Alabama is something that can't be replicated.
When Tennessee beat the Crimson Tide, a host of Orange-clad Vols fans stormed the field, creating one of the most memorable college football scenes in recent memory.
And that scene is something that's stayed with recruits who were at the game or saw it on television.
2024 four-start tight end Jalen Reddell recently spoke with On3 about his recruitment and he made sure to point out that the environment for the Alabama game made his interest in Tennessee increase.
“I was at Tennessee for the Alabama game and it was crazy,” said Reddell. “It was a wild environment, the fans rushed the field and it was a huge win for the program. I can say that visit impacted my interest in Tennessee."
“Now I want to get back, spend more time with the staff and get another look at the school," added Reddell. "When I was there for the Alabama game, it was awesome.”
Reddell, 6-foot-5/225 lbs from Peculiar, MO, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 3 player in the state of Missouri and the No. 6 tight end in the nation. He's also being pursued by Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, and Notre Dame.
That win over Alabama is going to be a massive recruiting weapon for the Vols for a long time. The on-field celebration is something that nearly every recruit in the nation saw. And it was so wild that it likely made an impact on all of those recruits.
You can't find that type of environment just anywhere. And it sounds like recruits know that.
