ESPN's Turron Davenport made a bold, but realistic, prediction this week for the Tennessee Titans in 2022.

Davenport was one of several ESPN NFL reporters that made bold predictions this week for the teams they cover.

And he thinks that Tennessee has a good shot to win sweep their season series with the NFC East.

From ESPN:

Tough matchups with the Eagles on the road and at Nissan Stadium against the Dallas Cowboys could hurt their chances. But the Titans will sweep the NFC East even though the Washington Commanders and New York Giants have made slight improvements from last season.

Two of the Titans' NFC East matchups should be close to guaranteed wins for Tennessee. The Titans open the season at home against the New York Giants and they play the Washington Commanders on the road in week five. Tennessee will be favored in both of those games. If they lose either matchup, it's a sign that the season isn't going as expected for the Titans.

The matchup on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles in week 13, however, will be tough. Philly is a good team that has playoff aspirations. And there's the AJ Brown element, too. Though by that point in the season the chatter surrounding the Brown trade to Philly shouldn't be quite as loud. Unless Brown is having a Pro-Bowl caliber season, in which case the noise in Nashville will be pretty loud. Either way, the Titans are the better team, but the Eagles are far from a pushover.

Tennessee gets the Dallas Cowboys at home on a Thursday night in the season's penultimate game.

I don't think anyone knows what to expect from the Cowboys in 2022. They could be a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Or they could implode with head coach Mike McCarthy squarely on the hot seat. This is absolutely a toss-up game for the Titans that could truly go either way.

Davenport could certainly end up being right about the Titans sweeping the NFC East in 2022, but I think a 3-1 record in those games is far more likely. Sweeping an entire division is extremely difficult. All it takes is a bad bounce or an errant throw for a loss to happen.
