Former Arkansas Razorbacks quarterbacks Clint Stoerner might be the most popular non-UT football player in Tennessee Vols history.
Stoerner's "stumble and fumble" in 1998 helped keep Tennessee's perfect season alive.
Despite that moment against Tennessee — a moment that Stoerner would undoubtedly love to forget forever — the former Arkansas quarterback came to Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker's defense this week.
Stoerner is one of the many folks who believe Hooker should've been a Heisman finalist.
On Wednesday, during a joint press conference with Dabo Swinney in Miami for the Orange Bowl, Vols head coach Josh Heupel made his first public comments about Hooker's Heisman snub.
A reporter commented that he thought Hooker should be a Heisman finalist and Heupel quickly agreed.
A lot of folks seem to agree with Stoerner and Heupel, but apparently not enough of those people also have a Heisman vote.
