Tennessee Vols fans are certainly familiar with just how special Jalin Hyatt is as a wide receiver talent, but it's taken the NFL a little longer to catch on. Hyatt won the Biletnikoff Award for being the best wide receiver in all of college football back in 2022 after he put up nearly 1300 yards and scored 15 touchdowns in just 12 games.

Hyatt is now entering his second season with the New York Giants and is now apparently taking huge strides towards becoming an incredible pro wide receiver as well.

Daniel Jones' high praise for Jalin Hyatt

When asked about Jalin Hyatt during media availability at New York Giants' minicamp Daniel Jones had this to say after spending more time with the wide receiver:

"Yeah, I think he's made a ton of improvement this offseason, and was really dialed in on some of the smaller details of route running, understanding how defenders are trying to play him, and how to gain leverage and separation. He's worked tremendously hard this offseason, and I think it's shown up on the field this spring. It's been really fun working with him. He's an extremely talented guy obviously, and he's only going to get better."

This shouldn't surprise anyone to hear that Jalin Hyatt is putting in the work. He put in plenty with Vols as he tried to learn Josh Heupel's offense and get in sync with his quarterback(s) in Knoxville. However, the knock on Hyatt coming out was certainly that he wasn't the most proficient route runner, and that he relied too heavily on his speed to win.

Now that Hyatt is developing as a route runner, taking advantage of defensive leverage, and finding chemistry with his quarterback in Daniel Jones he very well could take a huge leap in his sophomore NFL season.

And the compliments have been going both ways this spring. Hyatt has loved to see Daniel Jones' leadership as a quarterback saying that, "He stays [at the facility] forever and he's the last guy to leave." Jones and Hyatt have been putting in some real work together this offseason to hopefully add some explosive plays to the Giants' offense this fall.

Jalin Hyatt will have to continue working hard if he wants to make sure he maintains a significant role on offense this season now that the team has added Malik Nabers (former LSU WR and first round pick). Hopefully Hyatt and Jones continue to gel and Vols fans get to see him dominate the NFL like he did just a few short years ago.
