Jalin Hyatt has arrived in the NFL, and he did it in a way that looks very familiar to Tennessee Volunteer fans.

After getting shut out on the stat sheet in the opener, Hyatt made the first big play for the Giants on Sunday afternoon.  Trailing 20-0 at halftime, QB Daniel Jones found Hyatt streaking wide open deep for a 58-yard gain that set up the Giants' first points of both the game and the 2023 season.

Hyatt also added a catch for 31 yards in the fourth quarter, after which the Giants scored to tie the game at 28-28. New York would win 31-28 on a Graham Gano field goal with 19 seconds left, matching the franchise record for the largest comeback.

The Giants drafted the 2022 Biletnikoff Award winner in the third round of the 2023 draft to add a deep threat to New York's offense.  It took just over 3 halves of football to exhibit that skill at the NFL level.  Hyatt flew straight past two Arizona defenders as though they were wearing crimson and white uniforms on the third Saturday in October.

It also shows, once again, that the silly narrative among rival fans and uninformed talking heads about Hyatt not being suited for the NFL mainly because he's a fast straight-line runner is pure nonsense.  Tennessee fans simply need to point to the Vols' offense this year to show that receivers aren't just interchangeable in Josh Heupel's system.  It took a special player to make the crazy number of special plays Hyatt made last fall in Knoxville.

Now, it appears the Giants have a weapon in Hyatt, and a number of draft pundits could end up eating crow by the end of the season.
