Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt was selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft on Friday night.
On Saturday, one of Hyatt's former Tennessee teammates was also drafted by the Giants.
New York selected former Vols running back Eric Gray with the No. 172 overall pick (round five).
Gray spent the first two years of his collegiate career at Tennessee before transferring to Oklahoma after the 2020 season.
During his time with the Vols, Gray proved to be an elusive runner who was capable of breaking off a long run at any time.
Gray, who rushed for 1,366 yards last season with the Sooners, may not be viewed by fans as a VFL because of his decision to leave for Oklahoma, but that doesn't change that his name is etched in the Tennessee record books.
The Memphis native has the second-longest rush in Vols history (94 yards against Vanderbilt in 2019). Gray also has the fifth-best single-game rushing performance in Tennessee history (246 rushing yards against Vanderbilt in 2019).
Gray's 246 rushing yards against the Commodores in 2019 were the most by a Tennessee player since Tony Thompson rushed for 248 yards against Mississippi State in 1990.
Hyatt and Gray were teammates at Tennessee in 2020.
