A couple of years ago, quarterback Harrison Bailey, a four-star recruit coming out of Marietta (GA) High School in 2020, was viewed as a potential savior for the Tennessee Vols.

Bailey, however, never panned out at Tennessee. He appeared in just seven games, completing 51 passes for 594 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions. Bailey saw most of his action as a true freshman in 2020 under then head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

The Georgia native entered the transfer portal last fall and eventually landed at UNLV, where he's been competing for the starting job.

Earlier this week, UNLV revealed its depth chart for the start of the season.

And Bailey is listed as a co-starter with Doug Brumfield.

UNLV head coach Marcus Arroyo indicated this week that the starting quarterback on Saturday against Idaho State will likely be a game-time decision.

From Mountain West Wire:

Head coach Marcus Arroyo announced in a press conference on Monday that Brumfield and Bailey will share reps with the first-team during practice this week. The starter could be a game-time decision for Arroyo. He also noted that Friel was not “far behind” Brumfield and Bailey.

Bailey went to UNLV — a program nowhere close to his home state of Georgia — because he felt like he could win the starting job. If he fails to win the job at UNLV, his FBS career could be over (unless he's comfortable waiting his turn in Las Vegas).
