Former Tennessee Vols defensive back Theo Jackson was released by the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday as part of the team's final round of roster cuts.
Jackson, a Nashville native, was selected by the Titans in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
The former Vol had a solid training camp and he appeared to be poised to make the Titans' final 53-man roster after playing well against the Arizona Cardinals in Tennessee's final preseason game.

Jackson showed enough during training camp/preseason that he should be scooped up by another team. If not, he'll likely make the Titans' practice squad. If that's the case, I'd bet on him eventually seeing some action for Tennessee this season.
It's always a tough battle for late-round picks to make a 53-man roster. But Jackson shouldn't get discouraged. On Tuesday, former Vols defensive Micah Abernathy made the Green Bay Packers' 53-man roster after several years of being relegated to various practice squads (and a brief stint in the USFL).
Jackson's career is far from over just because he was released on Tuesday. He just has to keep putting in work.
