The LSU Tigers' offense hasn't looked elite this season, which is why they're expected to have a little different look when they play the Tennessee Vols this weekend.
Through five games this season, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels has passed for only 915 yards.
That's obviously not the type of production you expect from a starting quarterback at LSU (I'm pretty sure Joe Burrow cleared that total in two games in 2019).
As a result, Daniels, who has yet to throw an interception this season, is planning to be more aggressive against the Vols. That likely means more downfield shots against the Vols' pass defense.

According to 247Sports, LSU's focus this week in practice has been on being more aggressive.
The focal point of this week’s practice has all eyes on this offense being more aggressive, particularly in the passing game. Daniels hasn’t nearly been as comfortable taking shots downfield, which has allowed the offense to be a bit more conservative than anyone would like.
“If we wanna win, we wanna achieve the goals we’ve set, obviously you’re gonna have to push the ball downfield and make those big plays,” said Daniels. “Make teams respect you deep. That starts with me giving the receiver the chance to win a one-on-one matchup, winning the route and getting into that flow. We’ve seen how explosive our offense can be and we gotta make those plays.”
It sounds very much like Daniels and the Tigers' offense are planning on being much more aggressive against Tennessee. The Vols will need to prepare for a different look than what they've seen on tape from LSU.
Just because LSU is going to be more aggressive doesn't mean they'll be effective, but it's still something that Tennessee needs to consider as they prepare for the Tigers.
