One of the biggest reasons that AJ Brown wanted to be traded from the Tennessee Titans to the Philadelphia Eagles (aside from money, of course) was because of his friendship with quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Brown and Hurts have been friends for a while and often work out together during the offseason.
Unfortunately for the Eagles, their friendship isn't translating into immediate chemistry.
The duo has struggled a bit to get on the same page early during minicamps.
Tim McManus, who covers the Eagles for ESPN, noted on Tuesday that the connection between Hurts and Brown needs some "polishing".
His connection with receiver/close friend A.J. Brown needs some polishing, as evidenced by a pair of downfield attempts that didn't sync up.
"The first one I had to break up on [Darius] Slay and the second one I told him, 'Anything you do, just overthrow me, I'm going to clear him late,' as I did, and he overthrew me," Brown said. "We're still working and we're still trying to get on the same page, but we're really heading in the right direction, so it's a positive."

I'm sure the duo will get on the same page before the start of the 2022 season. It's only June, after all.
But it's still a bit surprising to hear that their connection needs to be "polished", considering all the time they've spent working out together during the offseason.
Is it possible that the Hurts/Brown connection won't be as fruitful as the Eagles were hoping?
Sure. That's certainly possible. The two players have never played on the same team at the college or pro level, so we don't know how their connection will work out in Philly. But it's also far too early in the summer to jump to that conclusion.
