Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt scored his first NFL touchdown on Friday night in the New York Giants' 21-19 win against the Carolina Panthers.

Hyatt, a third round selection by the Giants in the 2023 NFL Draft, scored on a 33 yard reception that featured the former Vol making a nice move at the top of his route to get open in the end zone.

The part about Hyatt's first NFL touchdown that flew under the radar is that it came against former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young, a fellow rookie who will be the starter for the Panthers this fall.

Young, of course, wasn't playing directly against Hyatt on Friday night, but he still had a front row seat for the former Vol's first NFL touchdown.

Just like last fall when Young had a front row seat for Hyatt's historic five touchdown performance in Tennessee's 52-49 win against Alabama.

Young, oddly enough, was also on the opposing sideline for Hyatt's first career collegiate touchdown — a 38 yard touchdown pass from Jarrett Guarantano in 2020 (Young, who was a true freshman in 2020, didn't start against UT in that matchup, but he did attempt five passes while backing up Mac Jones).

Young knows as well as anyone how much talent Hyatt possesses — he's seen it up close and personal plenty of times over the last few years. And it looks like he'll be seeing plenty of Hyatt in the NFL, too. The Panthers and the Giants don't play often, but their paths should cross a couple times over the next several years.
