Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt is reunited with a former UT teammate in ESPN's latest 2023 NFL mock draft.

ESPN has the Los Angeles Chargers selecting Hyatt with the No. 24 overall pick in the first round.

From ESPN:

I see Hyatt as the missing element in this offense. The Chargers need a vertical threat who can stretch the third level of the defense, and the Biletnikoff Award winner averaged 18.9 yards per catch in 2022. Hyatt is a player who can break open a game in an instant, and teaming him up with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams provides Justin Herbert with a high-caliber supporting cast. Herbert's 6.8 yards per attempt ranked 26th in the NFL this season, down from 7.5 (11th) in 2021. But Hyatt's downfield ability can help turn that back toward the top of the league.

Landing in Los Angeles would reunite Hyatt with former Vols wide receiver Josh Palmer, who was drafted by the Chargers in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Hyatt and Palmer were teammates together at Tennessee in 2020. Palmer was a senior while Hyatt was a true freshman that season.

Going to the Chargers would be a nice spot for Hyatt. Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert throws a great deep ball which would pair well with Hyatt's elite speed. Hyatt could complement Palmer, Mike Williams, and Kennan Allen as a deep threat for LA.

If Hyatt is drafted in the first round as some mocks are predicting, it'll be a big help to Tennessee on the recruiting trail. One of the best recruiting tools for a program is showing that it can get players to the NFL.
