Tennessee Vols head coach Josh Heupel was in a good mood after UT's big win against the Clemson Tigers in the Orange Bowl on Friday night.
And he should've been — Tennessee's 31-14 win over Clemson put the bow on a fantastic season by the Vols. The win over the Tigers got Tennessee to 11 wins for the first time since 2001.
After the game, Vols wide receiver Squirrel White, who started in place of superstar wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, was asked about his connection with quarterback Joe Milton.
White said he spent a lot of time working with Milton during practices while both players worked with Tennessee's second-team units. And that Milton would always hit him in stride with passes.
That's when Heupel interjected and asked White if the ball was coming hard from Milton.
"Yeah it was, actually," said White. "It actually knocked me off my feet."
It was all laughs for the Vols after beating Clemson. And that's how it should be. After a tremendous season — one that exceeded expectations on so many levels — Tennessee's players and coaches deserve the chance to sit back, smile, and take in the special season they just delivered for Vols fans.
