Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Darnell Wright has officially accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL in January.
Wright, who started at right tackle this season for the Vols, has one more year of college eligibility remaining (his COVID year).
The Huntington, WV native hasn't made an announcement about his draft intentions, but his decision to accept the Senior Bowl invite seems to indicate that Wright is heading to the NFL.
And that's probably the right decision. Some mock drafts have had Wright as a potential first-round draft pick, but most draft analysts seem to think he'll be a day-two pick. That's hard to pass up if you're Wright — even if a nice NIL deal would've been waiting on him if he returned to Knoxville in 2023.
Even if Wright declares for the NFL draft, he can still play in the Orange Bowl against Clemson. Wright was one of the most underrated players in college football this season so he's certainly a player the Vols hope to have against the Tigers in Miami later this month.
