The Oklahoma Sooners received their first "Welcome to the SEC" moment on Wednesday night.

Oklahoma, which is set to join the SEC in 2024 along with the Texas Longhorns, learned on Wednesday night which SEC teams they'll be playing in 2024.

The Sooners will have a tough slate of games in 2024, unlike what they're used to in the Big 12.

Oklahoma is set to face Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee at home. They'll hit the road to take on Auburn, LSU, Missouri, and Ole Miss. The Sooners also play Texas in Dallas.

That's a tough schedule, but there's no such thing as an easy schedule in the SEC. And that's something that Oklahoma fans are quickly learning.

Some Sooners fans took to message boards on Wednesday night to voice their frustration with Oklahoma's 2024 SEC schedule and to suggest that the maybe the move to a new conference isn't quite worth it.

"Is this really what we want? How is this great? Just more losses per season and fewer conference championships….is this what we want?," wrote one concerned Oklahoma fan.

There's no doubt that life is about to get tougher for the Sooners. But this is what Oklahoma wanted so they'll have to deal with the annually brutal schedules that are only going to get tougher once the SEC eventually moves to a nine-game conference schedule.

Let the Boomer Sooner sadness commence.
