On Sunday, NFL Network host Rich Eisen, a Michigan graduate, suggested that the Tennessee Vols should bring a huge orange flag to Columbus for their first round College Football Playoff matchup against Ohio State.

Eisen wants the Vols to put a Power T flag on the sideline for Ohio State's players and coaches to look at the entire game.

"If I'm [Tennessee], I'm bringing the largest orange flag with a white T on it that's ever been created," said Eisen. "It's not bad sportsmanship, it's what one does when one wins in the Ohio State University….Wouldn't you just bring the largest flag and just put it right there on the sideline for them to look at the entire game?"

Vols senior tight end Miles Kitselman was asked over the weekend during an appearance on The Locker Room if Tennessee has any flag planting plans for their trip to Columbus on December 21.

Kitselman quickly made it clear that the Vols won't be planting any flags at Ohio Stadium if they get a win against the Buckeyes.

"No, there will be no flags," said Kitselman.

"I don't really feel like being a felon," added Kitselman (a reference to an Ohio lawmaker's attempt to make flag planting a felony).

I don't have many thoughts on whether or not a team should be planting flags at another team's stadium. On one hand, it's part of what makes rivalries great. On the other hand, we don't need post-game melees on the field because of a flag.

Planting a flag after a playoff game, however, seems like a quick way to earn some bad karma. Whichever team wins on Saturday night will still need to win three more games to claim a national championship. That's not a situation where planting a flag makes much sense. There will be bigger fish to fry for whichever team leaves the horseshoe with a win on Saturday night.
