The Tennessee Vols lost another heartbreaker on Saturday night — this time to Missouri on a three-pointer at the buzzer — but a new UT football assistant emerged as a fan favorite in the wake of the loss.

New Vols assistant offensive line coach Kevin Pendleton, a former Missouri football player, responded to a tweet from another former Mizzou player that was bragging about the Tigers' win over the Vols.

The former Mizzou player, Paul Adams, tried to get Pendleton to celebrate the win.

But Pendleton, who joined Tennessee's staff in December, wasn't having it — despite the fact that he played for the Tigers.

Pendleton responded with a reference to the Vols' football game against Missouri this upcoming season and included a "GBO".

That's one way for a coach to endear himself to Tennessee fans.

The culture on Rocky Top is as strong as it gets. And this is just another example of that.
