OTA's are in full swing, but that does not mean the Titans' are done improving their roster.

Pro Bowl linebacker Devin White requested a trade from the Buccaneers this April. Reports said that White is "fed up" with the team and has shown public frustration with the organization over the past month. Head Coach Todd Bowels has come out and said they have no plans on trading him, but things do change quickly in this league.

"We’ve got him for another year like Jason said,” Bowles said at the Bruce Arians Family Foundation Gala, via Scott Reynolds of pewterreport.com. “We discussed it. We’re not trading him, and we’ll go from there. It’s the offseason right now, and nothing counts. We expect him to be there when the season starts.”

In his recent collum, ESPN expert Matt Bowen listed the Titans as the best fit for the disgruntled pro bowler. Here is what he had to say:

White, who requested a trade in April, didn't play his best football in 2022, but his downhill acceleration and pursuit range would fit in Tennessee. Paired with free agent addition Azeez Al-Shaair, the Titans would have two stack linebackers with the traits to track the ball in the run game, pressure and roam the second level in passing situations.

The Titans have some salary cap issues — White would want a new contract from the team that trades for him — but they could figure out a way to give him a deal.

As of now, the Titans projected starting linebackers are Monty Rice and Azeez Al-Shaair. While White struggled last season, he would be a significant upgrade at the position and would give the Titans a formidable linebacker duo. While the Titans are tight on cap space for the 2023 season, they are projected to have over $100M in cap space in 2024, so there is plenty of room to make a new deal work.

The Titans should give somewhere in the ballpark of a third and fifth round pick in a trade for White. With that relatively low asking price, White is very much in play for this team.
