The Tennessee Titans have been a pipeline for elite running back play over there decades. From Eddie George, to Chris Johnson, and now Derrick Henry, they have been the best of the best at RB.

Now, a former running back great in the NFL thinks that a 2023 NFL Draft prospect could have speed like CJ2K.

On NFL Network, LaDainian Tomlinson compared Alabama Crimson Tide RB Jahmyr Gibbs' potential to that of former Titans star Chris Johnson.

"IF HE RUNS A 4.2 (at the NFL Combine),
LOOK OUT. HE MIGHT ROCKET UP
DRAFT BOARDS LIKE CHRIS JOHNSON."

The climb up draft boards would be intriguing for Gibbs.

Right now, he is projected to go somewhere between the late first round and middle of the second round. There's a solid range for him and plenty of RB-needy teams in that sector of the draft this year.

Gibbs was a very impressive runner for the Tide, but this comparison is pretty eye-opening. In Gibbs' game, his speed isn't normally the first trait that people think about for him.

It's his elusiveness. In and out of cuts, there's no one better in this year's draft class. In actuality, his electric style with the ball in his hands actually looks similar to former Tennessee Vols running back Alvin Kamara.

Regardless, the praise for Gibbs is exciting for his career outlook in the NFL.

Chris Johnson set the NFL world on fire for a few seasons with the Titans.

Johnson's speed was uniquer and historic during his career in Tennessee. We may never see a running back with his sort of skillset again in the NFL.
