The Tennessee Titans had been teasing the return of Oilers-inspired uniforms for months now.
On Sunday night, we finally got to see the long-awaited reveal.
The Titans had been teasing the release with a few promo videos and the team changed its profile picture to an Oilers logo .
The release video features highlights from the classic Houston Oilers' teams of old, featuring Elvin Bethea, Warren Moon, and Earl Campbell.
The video then transitions to Titans' legends Steve McNair and Eddie George donning the uniforms.
Finally, we get to see current Titans' stars in the new digs. Derrick Henry, Jeffrey Simmons, Kevin Byard, and Ryan Tannehill are prominently displaying the modern fits.
The team will don the white helmets with red facemasks, while sporting the baby blue jerseys with white numbers outlined in red.
Finally, the fits include red arm sleeves and white pants with the blue and red stripe down the side.
The team asbolutely nailed this updated look. It puts a modern spin on one of the most classic NFL outfits. It doesn't do too much, but it's still new and fresh. The team will wear the uniforms for two home games at Nissan Stadium this fall.
"It allows us to honor as many players as we can, because it covers so much time," said Surf Melendez, Vice President and Executive Creative Director for the Titans. "It also represented our transition to Tennessee, because we wore these uniforms in Tennessee as well."
As Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk said, "Oilers history is Titans history."
