The Titans have been rumored to be in the hunt for an offensive tackle ever since the suspension of Nicholas Petit-Frere was announced.

Losing a starting lineman is always tough, but especially so for a shallow Titans' line. Many fans were quick to point out that veteran George Fant is available, and Fant is a native of nearby Bowling Green, Kentucky.

However, on Thursday night, the team decided to go in a different direction.

Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Titans are bringing in veteran tackle Chris Hubbard.

While many fans were familiar Fant due to his proximity, Hubbard may be a more unfamiliar name.

Hubbard is a versatile player who has NFL snaps at tackle, guard, and even center. He's battled injuries the past couple of seasons, but has been a serviceable rotational lineman for both the Steelers and Browns.

The new Titan has had a 10-year career after going undrafted back in 2013. Hubbard latched on with the Steelers and remained with the team until 2018. From 2018-2022, Hubbard was on the Browns and filled in several times.

Hubbard has played in 85 games and started 49. This means that Hubbard is by far the most experienced option the Titans have.

For what it's worth, A to Z Sports knows the Titans did discuss an offer with free agent George Fant, who worked out at the Titans' facility last Saturday. It appears that the team and Fant were unable to hash out a deal, however, and the team pivoted to Hubbard.

Hubbard should likely be the favorite to start at right tackle until Petit-Frere returns. Even after the return of NPF, Hubbard could fill in at guard or center if needed.

While not a star, Hubbard is a veteran presence who should at least keep the Titans afloat for a couple of months.
