Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Tee Martin could be an NFL offensive coordinator soon.

Martin, who is currently the Baltimore Ravens' wide receivers coach (a job he took after two years as the wide receivers coach at Tennessee), reportedly received an interview request from the Indianapolis Colts this week for their offensive coordinator job.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler first reported the news.

Martin has never been an offensive coordinator in the NFL, but he spent three seasons as USC's offensive coordinator (he also spent time as the Trojans' passing game coordinator).

If Martin lands the job with the Colts, he wouldn't be calling plays. New Indy head coach Shane Steichen, who was the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator the last two seasons, has already said he plans to call plays for the Colts in 2023.

There doesn't appear to be any previous connection between Steichen and Martin, so I'm not sure how realistic it is that Martin will land the job.

Oddly enough, the Colts are also interested in former Vols quarterback Jim Bob Cooter, who has previous NFL offensive coordinator experience.

I figured Martin would attempt to land a job in Florida this offseason so he could be closer to his son Kaden, who will be a freshman for the Miami Hurricanes baseball team this season.
