Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has remained at the top of college football for two decades (minus that stint in the NFL) because of his willingness to constantly evolve.

That's likely the reason behind Saban's weekly Thursday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show during the 2023 season college football season.

Saban knows that the NCAA transfer portal has leveled the playing field a bit when it comes to recruiting. Joining The Pat McAfee Show weekly gives Saban an opportunity to send his message to recruits/potential transfer players while appearing on the popular daytime sports talk show.

On Thursday, Saban received the attention he's looking for, though probably not in a way that he preferred.

Saban went viral on Thursday because during a binder with an orange Power T could be seen sitting on the Alabama coach's desk during his appearance on McAfee's show.

Several observant social media users pointed out the binder.

That's probably not what Saban had in mind when he agreed to join McAfee each Thursday for a conversation.

But I'm sure Tennessee doesn't mind the free "advertising" from Saban.

Saban clearly has the Vols on his mind to some extent, even though Alabama and Tennessee don't play for another three weeks.

I guess that loss to the Vols last season still weighs heavy on Saban.
