We must be deep into the college football offseason because Oklahoma Sooners fans are floating a wild conspiracy theory about one of the Tennessee Vols' 2024 commits.

2024 four-star defensive back Kaleb Beasley, 6-foot/179 lbs, is rated as the No. 1 player in the state of Tennessee.

Beasley committed to the Vols last fall just days after Tennessee's memorable 52-49 win against Alabama.

While Beasley is still solidly committed to Tennessee, he's also still taking some visits.

And one of those visits is to Oklahoma next weekend.

Sooners fans apparently aren't convinced that Beasley's visit is genuine. Instead, there's a group of Oklahoma fans that think Beasley is visiting Norman next weekend in an attempt to sway some recruits to Tennessee.

I'm not about to buy into this conspiracy theory — anything can happen in recruiting — but it's true that five-star defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri, one of the Vols' top 2024 recruiting targets, will be at Oklahoma the same weekend as Beasley.

Nwaneri is rated by 247Sports as the No. 3 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.

Beasley seems interested in just enjoying the recruiting process while Nwaneri is still trying to decide where he wants to commit (Tennessee is very much a threat to land Nwaneri). It's hard for me to see this conspiracy theory being legit.

But at the same time, I can certainly understand why Oklahoma fans are a bit skeptical of Beasley's intentions.
