The Tennessee Vols, despite not having star wide receiver Cedric Tillman for the second straight week, destroyed the LSU Tigers on Saturday afternoon in Baton Rouge.
Tennessee took an early 7-0 lead after LSU fumbled the game's opening kickoff. The Vols eventually won 40-13.
That's obviously a great win for the Vols — it's Tennessee's first win against the Tigers since 2005.
But there's one thing that makes the win just a little sweeter.
The 27-point loss was LSU head coach Brian Kellly's second worst-ever home loss.
And it's his largest home loss as an FBS head coach.
Welcome to the SEC, Brian.
The Vols showed they were for real by beating Florida. Against LSU, they made a statement — the SEC East isn't going to just be given to Georgia. Tennessee is going to make the Bulldogs work for it.
It's a new era on Rocky Top. And this era is fun.
