Carrier has been playing with Mattias Ekholm for the majority of the season. The team released the news along with the callup of defender Kevin Gravel from their AHL affiliate Milwaukee Admirals.

There has been no detailed information released about the nature of Carrier's injury. However, Predators Head Coach John Hynes confirmed that the injury stemmed from Carrier's fight with Winnipeg's Logan Stanley on Tuesday night. After being released from the penalty box, Carrier returned to play a few shifts, then left the game and did not return.
