Predators water main break forces game to be postponed

The 1:00 pm game today at Bridgestone Arena between the Preds and the Colorado Avalanche has been postponed after a water main break outside the arena sent water spewing into the main concourse and team store early this morning. Of course, water flows downhill, which means the water has reached the ice and is impacting the play surface. Predators President Sean Henry said the concourse, locker rooms, loading dock, and other areas at event level have anywhere from 3-4 inches of water to 3 feet of water.

The water has been shut off and groups are working to pump water out of the arena. They are also working to figure out a plan for the men's collegiate hockey game scheduled to be played at the Arena tonight.

In addition to the early afternoon game being postponed due to the flood, the Predators Team Store, which was slated to open for Black (Gold) Friday shopping, has been forced to remain closed. The Predators are also slated to play the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday at 7:00 pm. However, no decision has been made at the time of the release.
