Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill is quickly building chemistry with one of the team's key offseason additions.

Titans offensive coordinator Todd Downing met with reporters on Tuesday and discussed Tannehill's offseason, among other topics.

Downing noted that Tannehill and tight end Austin Hooper have been taking advantage of their time together and are getting comfortable playing with each other.

"I think it's (chemistry) been great," said Downing of Tannehill and Hooper. "They take advantage of the extra time that they have to be able to work on some one-on-one situations. Making sure those guys understand where they're supposed to be, and when they're supposed to be there, is a big piece of timing and efficiency in the pass game. So it's been good to see those guys working and I think they're doing a nice job."

Hooper signed a one-year deal with the Titans earlier this offseason after spending the last two years with the Cleveland Browns. The former Stanford standout is the No. 1 tight end on Tennessee's depth chart, ahead of Geoff Swaim.

The Titans are hoping that Hooper proves to be one of the best value signings of the offseason.

Hooper and tight end David Njoku each played 29 games over the last two years for the Browns. Hooper caught 84 passes for 780 yards and seven touchdowns, while Njoku caught 55 passes for 688 yards and six touchdowns.

Njoku signed a four-year extension with the Browns this offseason worth $56.7 million.

Hooper's one-year deal with the Titans is worth $6 million.

On paper, the Titans got the more productive tight end for less money. We'll see if that's how it plays out this upcoming season, but so far, it's looking good for Tennessee at the tight end position.
