The Tennessee Vols got down 4-0 early against the Campbell Fighting Camels on Saturday night in Knoxville, but, in typical UT fashion, the Volunteers had no issues erasing the big deficit as they left Lindsey Nelson Stadium with a 12-7 win.
Vols starting pitcher Chase Dollander was chased from the game in the third inning after giving up four runs (two earned). Junior left-handed pitcher Kirby Connell entered the game in the third and proceeded to throw a career-high 70 pitches in four innings.

After the game, Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello was asked about Connell's relief outing.
Vitello's response included one of the best quotes of the month.
"It's that time of year, so you’ve got to be ready for anything," said Vitello. "And if I'm gonna hand the ball off to a guy when it's hitting the fan, you might as well go to the guy with the mustache, because he takes good care of us."
The guy with the mustache was pretty good on Friday against Campbell. Connell's only blemish on the night was a two-run home run he gave up to Camels first baseman Drake Pierson.
Tennessee needs to win one more game to advance to the Super Regional round. The Vols will play the winner of Campbell and Georgia Tech (they play at 2:00 PM ET on Sunday) on Sunday night. The winner of Campbell/Georgia Tech would have to beat Tennessee twice to advance to the Super Regional (game two would be Monday, if necessary).
