The Tennessee Vols baseball team received some great news on Friday morning ahead of their Super Regional matchup with Notre Dame.

Kansas shortstop Maui Ahuna announced that he's transferring to Tennessee.

Ahuna, a Hilo, Hawaii native, entered the transfer portal last month after hitting .396 with eight home runs and 48 RBI in 2022.

The former Jayhawk, who earned first-team All-Big 12 honors this past season, will be a junior in 2023 (meaning he can be selected in the 2023 MLB Draft).

Ahuna made several Sportscenter top-10 worthy plays this past season with his glove.

Ahuna isn't just great with the glove, he can rake, too.

Earlier this year, Kansas head coach Ritch Price, who retired as the Jawhawks' head coach last month, said Ahuna could be the best player in Kansas program history.

There isn't a baseball program on the planet hotter than Tennessee right now, so it's not a surprise that one of the best players in the nation is heading East to Rocky Top.
