Tennessee's offensive line will be getting a big boost on Saturday night.

Senior center Cooper Mays, who has missed the first four games of the season, will make his 2023 debut against South Carolina, according to ESPN's Chris Low.

Mays underwent a medical procedure in August for what was an undisclosed injury.  Despite rumors of a hernia repair surgery popping up on the internet, Josh Heupel never went into detail about what the nature of the procedure was or the underlying injury.  Mays seemed ready to return for the Florida game per comments from Heupel but was ultimately held out for the next two games.

Now the Vols will get the anchor of their offensive line back, whose experience in reading opposing defenses and calling out blocking assignments can't be overvalued as the Vols begin their SEC slate in earnest.

The Vols and Gamecocks will kick off Saturday night at 7:30 pm ET from Neyland Stadium, with the game being broadcast on the SEC Network.
