The Tennessee Vols got some incredibly great recruiting news on Wednesday afternoon.

2023 four-star linebacker Arion Carter announced his commitment to Tennessee on Wednesday.

Carter picked the Vols over Alabama and Ohio State.

Carter, 6-foot-1/215 lbs from Smyrna, TN (Smyrna), is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 13 linebacker in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee.

Here's the scouting report from Carter from 247Sports' Gabe Brooks:

Also plays basketball and competes in track and field.
Tennessee 3A D-I state qualifier in the 300-meter hurdles, placing sixth (41.25). High jumped 6-0 and long jumped 19-5 in Spring 2022, while also posting an 11.99 100 and a 17.32 110-meter hurdles time.
Finished junior basketball season averaging 4.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in 20 contests.

Tennessee now has 25 players committed to its 2023 recruiting class (that includes transfer kicker Charles Campbell and transfer tight end McCallan Castles).

The Vols' recruiting class was ranked No. 10 before Carter's commitment. We should see that ranking jump a bit with Carter now a part of Tennessee's 2023 class.
