The last shoe fell from the closet of the Lady Vols’ locker room on Monday morning, and it was in the form of guard Jaida Civil.

The sole remaining player on the Lady Vols’ roster from last season will be, it appears, indeed leaving the Tennessee program, along with the rest of players who are eligible to return for 2026-27.

According to 247 Sports’ Dushawn London, Civil is entering the transfer portal.

Tennessee guard Jaida Civil, the last returning Lady Vol, is transferring out of the program

Civil, a 6-foot guard out of Vero Beach, FL (Palm Bay High School), committed to Kim Caldwell back in November 2024. She carved out a role for herself quickly as a freshman last season, totaling 18.8 minutes per game across all 30 games. She averaged 6.4 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, and 1.5 assists per game.

Civil was the final player from last year’s roster who had not yet decided whether to stay or leave, or was not out of eligibility. Top scorer Talaysia Cooper entered the portal, as did every other returning player, which notably included top three scorer Mia Paldo.

The only player who is set to play for the Lady Vols next fall at all is incoming freshman and four-star forward Gabby Minus. Elite five-star signee Oliviyah Edwards asked out of her letter of intent over the weekend.

The state of the program speaks for itself. Literally not having a roster to work with is completely astounding, even in this era of NIL/transfer portal. We’ll see what the coming days hold as far as bringing in talent, but this is not a good look for a once-proud Tennessee program.
