The Tennessee Titans received some devastating news on Thursday when it was revealed that pass rusher Harold Landry tore his ACL and will miss the entire 2022 season.
Landry was coming off the best season of his career after totaling 12 sacks and 74 tackles in 2021.
As a result of his big season, Landry signed a five-year extension worth $87.5 million in the offseason.
With Landry sidelined for the season, it robs the Titans of their best pass rusher. It also means their pass-rushing depth is compromised.
Tennessee obviously won't be able to completely replace Landry's production (unless they make a blockbuster trade for someone like Chicago Bears pass rusher Robert Quinn — a move that seems unlikely considering Quinn is under contract through the 2024 season).
However, the Titans can add some depth and do their best to improve via some "under-the-radar" moves.
One potential move Tennessee could consider would be trading for Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Clelin Ferrell, a former first-round pick out of Clemson.

Pro Football Network's Dallas Robinson pointed out Ferrell as a potential option for the Titans on Thursday:
Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler are ready and willing to give up on Mike Mayock/Jon Gruden draft picks, as evidenced by their release of offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood earlier this week. Ferrell wasn’t worth the fourth overall pick in the 2019 draft, but he’s an NFL-caliber player, and it probably wouldn’t take much for the Raiders to send him packing.
Ferrell, who was a player that was considered on the roster bubble at times during the preseason, hasn't lived up to expectations during his first three seasons in the NFL.
The former Clemson standout showed promise as a rookie, finishing with 4.5 sacks while playing in 15 games. But he's only had 3.5 sacks in the two ensuing seasons.
Ferrell has talent — he finished with 21 sacks over his final two seasons at Clemson — he just hasn't been able to put it all together quite yet.
The current Raiders regime didn't draft Ferrell and considering he was on the roster bubble, he likely wouldn't cost too much in a trade. Tennessee could probably get him for a late-round draft pick.
It could be a nice low-risk/high-reward move for the Titans. Ferrell is a free agent after the 2022 season (Las Vegas declined his fifth-year option), so it's not like Tennessee would create future salary cap issues by trading for the former first-round draft pick.
Trading for Ferrell wouldn't completely alleviate the pain of losing Landry. But it would help the Titans' depth and it would give them a player with upside that could thrive with a change of scenery.
Tennessee doesn't have a lot of viable options in this situation — outside of veteran free agents that still haven't signed — but Ferrell is a cheap option that could make some sense for the Titans.
