There's a lot of hype surrounding 2023 five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava, a Tennessee Vols commit who may or may not have received an $8 million NIL deal to commit to UT.
Is Iamaleava as good as advertised? Or is he just being hyped because of the insane amount of attention he's received over the last few months?
We won't know for sure until Iamaleava steps onto a college football field — which won't be until the fall of 2023 at the earliest.
But based on what we're seeing so far, I'd say Nico is deserving of the hype. This kid can play.
Just check out this impressive throw he recently made.
Everything about that throw is perfect. The quick look to the left creates a barely-there window that's just big enough for Nico to fit the ball in. Then there's the quick release and of course, the absolutely perfect ball placement where only his receiver can catch the ball.
That's an NFL-level throw.
And just think — he's only going to get better at Tennessee. The Vols have some of the best offensive teachers in the nation in head coach Josh Heupel, offensive coordinator Alex Golesh and quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle.
Nico has a lot to prove when he gets to Tennessee. And there will obviously be a lot of pressure on him. But it's hard to not be excited about the idea of Iamaleava in orange and white if you're a Vols fan.
