Middle Tennessee State defensive lineman Marley Cook tweeted on Thursday that he received an offer from the Vols.
Cook entered the portal on the same day that MTSU fired longtime coach Rick Stockstill.
Cook, 6-foot-2/298 lbs is an experienced defensive tackle who has totaled 61 tackles and 10.5 sacks during his career. He's originally from Water Valley, MS.
The Vols aren't alone in their pursuit of Cook. Miami and Ohio State, among other programs, are also showing interest in the talented defensive lineman. Cook is set to visit Miami and Ohio State in December.
Tennessee has several defensive tackles on the roster that have a decision to make about returning in 2024 for their final seasons of eligibility. Omari Thomas, Omarr Norman-Lott, and Elijah Simmons each have the option of returning to Tennessee next fall.
